Bowling Green forum to discuss proposed cell phone curb

BOWLING GREEN A proposal to ban cell phone use while driving is the topic for an informational forum Wednesday at the Simpson Building, 1291 Conneaut Ave.

City voters will decide May 5 whether to ban the use of cell phones by motorists, an idea presented to City Council last year by Councilman Bob McOmber. Council ultimately decided to place the question before voters.

Sponsored by the Bowling Green Area Community Partnership and the League of Women Voters Bowling Green, the forum begins at 7 p.m. Mr. McOmber will discuss reasons for supporting the ban, and businessman Norm Heineman will discuss the downside.
