Hillsdale's 21-year-old mayor says he will not seek reelection

BLADE STAFF

HILLSDALE, Mich. Hillsdale Mayor Michael Sessions announced Tuesday he will not seek re-election to a second term in office.

Mr. Sessions, then 19, was elected mayor in 2005 after launching a successful write-in campaign, defeating incumbent Doug Ingles.

Mr. Sessions, 21, who is attending Hillsdale College, said future career plans, which could include going to law school after graduation next year, would not allow him to complete a second term if re-elected.
