Lucas County traffic fatalities in 1st quarter put at 9

Lucas County had eight fatal traffic crashes, resulting in nine deaths, between Jan. 1 and March 31, the Lucas County Traffic Safety Program has announced.

More than half the crashes involved a drunken driver, the program said.

The county had seven fatal crashes with nine deaths during the same period last year. It had 32 fatal crashes in all of 2008 with 37 deaths.
