OSHA probes injury of Edison employee

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the case of a Toledo Edison employee who died in the hospital after undergoing surgery to repair a leg broken in a job-related fall.

Bruce Bartos, 57, of Berkey, fell May 12 while training on Angola Road in Springfield Township, authorities said.

Mr. Bartos died of an embolism Monday in Toledo Hospital after undergoing orthopedic surgery on his fractured left leg, the Lucas County Coroner s Office said.

The safety agency is involved because the death is considered job-related, an OSHA spokesman said.
