The City of Toledo's Pickford pool, at 3000 Medford Dr., and Savage Splash Pad, at 645 Vance St., opened Tuesday. Both are open weekdays from 12-6 p.m. Admission to Pickford is $1.
Mayoral spokesman Megan Robson said that four more pools are expected to open by the end of the week. Those pools are Detwiler at 3901 290th St., Roosevelt at 910 Dorr St., Navarre at 1001 White St., and Wilson at 3253 Otto St. The openings are pending site maintenance, licensing and health board approvals.
All the pools will be open from 12-6 p.m. on weekdays. Admission at Detwiler will be free for visitors under 7, $1 for 8-12-year-olds, and $2 for visitors 12 years and over.
The pools are opening after the city received grants from the Economic Opportunity Planning Association, Toledo CityParks Fund, and Monroe Street United Methodist Church.
