ROCKY RIDGE, Ohio - A person was seriously injured in a head-on crash involving a tractor-trailer rig and multiple cars Tuesday morning near this community, authorities said.
The crash victim, whose name was not available, was extricated from the cars wreckage and flown to an area hospital in critical condition about 20 minutes after the crash that happened about 8:35 a.m., according to the Ottawa County Sheriffs Office.
The crash occurred on State Rt. 2 at Stange Road in Ottawa County's Benton Township, sheriff's deputies said.
Route 2, between State Rt. 590 and State Rt. 579, was closed due to the crash. A detour was established via Route 590, State Rt. 163, State Rt. 51, and Route 579, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.
They released no further details Tuesday morning.
Rocky Ridge is about 20 miles southeast of Toledo.
