Bicyclist critically hurt by truck is identified

Authorities Friday released the name of an 8-year-old boy who was struck by a pickup while riding a bicycle the day before on Worden Road near South Coy Road in Oregon.

Dalton Lawyer of College Station, Texas, was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Oregon, where he was listed in critical condition yesterday, a hospital spokesman said.

The boy was hit about 6:30 p.m. Thursday when he rode into the path of the truck while exiting a driveway from the south side of Worden, Oregon police said.

The truck was driven by Keith Neubert, 43, of Maumee, who was eastbound on Worden, police said. Mr. Neubert was not injured.

No charges have been filed, police said.
