Toledoan enters plea to child endangering

A 24-year-old Toledo woman entered a plea to a misdemean or charge in Lucas County Common Pleas Court yesterday after admitting to having sexual contact with a 14-year-old boy.

Alexa Grover of 401 Harring ton Drive entered an Alford plea to child endangering. As part of the negotiated plea, a felony charge of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor will be dismissed at her Oct. 7 sentencing.

Authorities said Ms. Grover had a sexual relationship with a teenage boy who she knew between June and August, 2008.

She faces up to six months in jail when sentenced by Judge Linda Jennings. In an Alford plea, the defendant maintains innocence or does not admit committing a crime, but pleads guilty in the belief it s in his or her best interest. The court treats it as a guilty plea.
