TIFFIN - After paring 5 percent from their 2009 budgets earlier this year then cutting another 2 percent midyear, Seneca County department heads were told Thursday to keep cutting.
County commissioners asked department heads to plan on cutting another 5 percent out of their budgets for 2010. Commissioner Dave Sauber said the board hopes to pass next year's budget by Dec. 1 so that county offices and employees know what to expect in the new year.
"It's a difficult time. It is," Mr. Sauber said. "But if you look at Seneca County compared to other counties surrounding us … we're holding our own."
