HARROD - A 3-year-old child was killed over the weekend in a three-vehicle crash near this village in southeast Allen County.
Macy Harp, of Alger, died in Lima Memorial Hospital as a result of internal injuries from the accident that occurred about 6:50 p.m. Saturday on State Rt. 309 and Phillips Road in Allen County's Auglaize Township, troopers at the Ohio Highway Patrol's Lima post said.
Young Harp was a passenger in a car being driven west on Route 309 by Jonathon Harp, of Alger, when it hit the rear of a pickup truck being driven by Douglas Harnishfager, of Dublin.
Mr. Harp's car then crossed the eastbound lane and was hit by a truck headed east on Route 309 by Richard Zeigler, also of Alger.
Mr. Harp was treated for minor injuries at Lima Memorial and another passenger in his car, Shannon Harp, was taken to National Wide Hospital in Columbus for internal injuries.
Mr. Harnishfager and his passengers, Lesley Harnishfager and Erin Harnishfager, were taken to St. Rita's Medical Center.
Mr. Zeigler also was taken to St. Rita's for treatment.
The accident remains under investigation.
