A 20-year-old woman told police she was threatened with a gun and sexually assaulted after getting out of her car just after midnight Tuesday.
Toledo Police Sgt. Sam Harris said the woman said a man wearing a ski mask and hooded sweatshirt held a gun to her back and walked her into her apartment in the 3300 block of Arlington Avenue where he raped her.
"It appears to be purely a stranger rape," Sergeant Harris said. "It appears she was singled out by the suspect."
The woman, who was treated at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, had just exited her car in the parking lot of the apartment complex where she lived when the man approached her. She told police that the assailant said he had been watching her in the past and knew she was alone quite a bit.
