Former athletic league commissioner pleads not guilty to sex offenses

A longtime official in a local youth athletic league appeared in Lucas County Common Pleas Court Wednesday to face multiple counts of sex offenses against children.

Mr. Millhoan, 42, of 307 North Summit St., was commissioner of the South Toledo Area Recreation Society football league, which has 16 football teams with more than 600 players ages 9 to 14. He was indicted Friday on charges related to two victims during a one-year period throughout 2009.

He appeared before Judge Linda Jennings in a jail jumpsuit and shackles. Judge Jennings set an April 13 trial date and ordered that Mr. Millhoan be kept in custody in lieu of a $880,000 bond.
