The Catholic Diocese of Toledo has collected $555,900 for victims of the Jan. 13 earthquake that devastated Haiti, with 82 percent of the 128 parishes reporting.
The funds are for Catholic Relief Services, which has had a humanitarian presence in Haiti for more than 50 years, Deacon Paul White, director of the diocese's office of global concerns, said.
