Sandusky man charged in chase by troopers

SANDUSKY — A Sandusky man accused of leading troopers from the Ohio Highway Patrol on a chase has been charged with fleeing and eluding police and reckless operation of a vehicle.

William White, Sr., 61, was arrested about noon Tuesday after a pursuit that reached speeds of more than 100 mph in Erie County. The chase started on State Rt. 2 near State Rt. 61 in Vermilion Township and ended at State Rt. 4 in Perkins Township. His vehicle was boxed in by patrol cars, troopers said. He was in Erie County jail yesterday, awaiting arraignment tomorrow in Huron Municipal Court.
