Lima man gets 4 years for 2009 traffic death

LIMA, Ohio — A Lima man who caused the death of a Bluffton woman in a traffic crash last year was sentenced yesterday to four years in prison.

Allen County Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey Reed also suspended the driver's license of Dennis Key II, 25, for life and ordered him to pay $7,997 restitution to the family of Tammy Carter, 42, who was killed in the April 4 crash.

Key, who pleaded guilty last month to aggravated vehicular homicide, was eastbound on State Rt. 81 east of Lima when he passed a car at high speed and hit a westbound vehicle in which Ms. Carter was riding.
