Findlay teen injured when SUV overturns

FINDLAY - A teenage girl was hurt Thursday evening when she lost control of her vehicle on the icy roadway and overturned into a ditch on State Rt. 224 in Hancock County's Liberty Township, authorities said.

Abigail Fruth, 17, of Findlay, was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital. Her condition was not immediately available. Sheriff's deputies said she wasn't wearing a seat belt.

Miss Fruth was eastbound on Route 224 past County Road 139 about 9:25 p.m. Thursday when her sport-utility vehicle slid on the ice, rotated clockwise, and went off the right side of the road.

She struck the ditch, overturned, and continuing sliding into a field, Hancock County Sheriff's deputies said.
