A person was injured in what started as a kitchen fire Wednesday night at an apartment complex on Oregon Road in Perrysburg Township, authorities said.
The victim, whose name was not released, was rescued from a third-floor apartment, treated at the scene, and released, according to the township fire department.
The fire at 29861 Oregon was reported about 8:55 p.m., about which time firefighters arrived, confined the fire to the apartment of origin, and extinguished it a short time later, according to the department.
The American Red Cross provided clothes and accommodations to residents of 12 apartments that sustained smoke damage in the fire, firefighters said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation. The damage estimate was unavailable.
Fire crews from Perrysburg, Rossford, and Northwood assisted in fighting the fire. Oregon Road was closed to traffic in the 29000 block while fire crews fought the blaze.
