FINDLAY — An Indiana man was hired yesterday as director of the Hancock Park District effective June 1.
Gary Pruitt, former director of the Fishers, Ind., Parks and Recreation Department, will take the place of Tim Brugeman, who is retiring after nearly four decades. Mr. Brugeman was the first and only director of the park district since it was created in 1970.
Mr. Pruitt, who was hired at an annual salary of $72,000, was selected from among 68 applicants. He was parks and recreation director in Fishers from 2002 until his resignation in December.
