Defiance police seek tips in death

DEFIANCE - Defiance police are seeking information about the death of Steven Diehl, 49, whose body was found Sept. 26 in a wooded area north of the Maumee and Western tracks west of Carpenter Road.

The cause of death was a handgun bullet wound, but no weapon has been found. Mr. Diehl was last seen alive Sept. 11 riding his motorcycle. The motorcycle was found Sept. 23 in a parking lot on the Defiance College campus.

The death could be a homicide or a suicide, Detective Sgt. Tobie Delaney said. A $5,000 reward is offered for information.
