3 area firms awarded grants totaling $270,000

The Ohio Controlling Board on Monday approved grants to three area companies, part of an award of $1.5 million in grants to 11 companies statewide, expected to create 382 jobs and retain 6,469.

North Star BlueScope Steel LLC of Delta received a $175,000 Rapid Outreach grant to help buy equipment. The steel firm's project is expected to retain 343 jobs.

Sanoh America Inc. received a $60,000 grant to help purchase equipment at its Archbold factory. The auto parts manufacturer's project is expected to create 28 jobs. Diehl Food Ingredients Inc. in Defiance received $35,000 to help buy new equipment. The project is expected to create 25 jobs and retain 75.
