Alzheimer's patient, 68, found dead in canal

FLORIDA, Ohio — The body of an Alzheimer's patient was found yesterday at about 12:30p.m. in a canal about a mile west of Florida, the Henry County Sheriff's Office said.

Firefighters found the body of Norman Karcher, 68, who had wandered away from his home in the 400 block of Church Street here yesterday morning. He was reported missing at about 8 a.m. The body has been turned over to the county coroner.
