Perrysburg Twp. man jailed for police standoff

Bond was set at $20,000 Tuesday for a Perrysburg Township man accused of holding police at bay for three hours at his house before escaping, authorities said.

David Riehm, 55, was arraigned in Perrysburg Municipal Court on two charges of inducing panic and was ordered held in the Wood County jail in Bowling Green pending a pretrial hearing tomorrow, authorities said.

Mr. Riehm was arrested without incident about 9:40 a.m. near his house on Oregon Road near Latcha Road. He allegedly had threatened suicide during the standoff but was not armed when he was arrested, Perrysburg police said.

Barricaded with a family member at his residence, Mr. Riehm had a standoff with police for about three hours beginning at 10:30 p.m. Monday, police said.
