The Blade's Road Warrior advises readers each Sunday where the biggest driving headaches will be throughout the construction season. He'll tell you the locations to avoid and the detours to take.
After reopening for Friday through Sunday, the same lane will be closed for the first three days of next week. During that time, Columbia Gas will be moving a gas main that is in the way of a new sewer main planned for that area, said Gary Stookey, a senior city engineer.
Further lane closings will occur after this first phase of work, he said, but the schedule remains to be determined, as does the schedule for the actual sewer construction.
Bridge work will require a one-day lane closing on southbound I-75 south of Bowling Green on Tuesday. The work will occur between State Rt. 281 and Jerry City Road from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Motorists should consider using U.S. 6 and State Rt. 25 as an alternate route.
