Man arrested in death of Sandusky woman

BELLEVUE, Ohio — A Sandusky man has been arrested in the murder of a Sandusky woman whose body was found near a pond off Smith Road near State Rt. 4.

Michael G. Martin, 53, was arrested Wednesday evening and will make his initial court appearance today in Sandusky Municipal Court.

He is being held in the Erie County jail on one count of murder stemming from the death of Amanda Gibson, 25, who was found just before 8 p.m. Tuesday by a fisherman near the Norfolk-Southern Railroad switching yard outside Bellevue.
