Bond set at $1 million for homicide suspect

MILAN, Ohio — Bond was set at $1 million Friday for a Sandusky man charged in the homicide of a Sandusky woman.

Michael G. Martin, 53, was arraigned before Erie County Municipal Court Judge Paul Lux, who scheduled a preliminary hearing for Friday.

The body of Amanda Gibson, 25, was found just before 8 p.m. Tuesday near a pond off Smith Road near State Rt. 4 near Bellevue. The suspect and the victim reportedly knew each other, but investigators have not disclosed a motive in the slaying.
