Vietnam memorial to be dedicated in Fostoria

FOSTORIA — A long-awaited memorial for Vietnam War veterans from Hancock, Seneca, and Wood counties is to be dedicated at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fountain Cemetery.

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 440 has worked for four years to create the memorial, which features a large, black granite stone engraved with the names of 72 veterans. The stone is surrounded by four benches.

Money for the project was raised through donations from area residents who paid to have their names etched on the back of the four benches.
