Owens Corning to add chemical exec to board

The board of directors of Toledo-based Owens Corning has voted to add a board member Jan. 1, naming J. Brian Ferguson, executive chairman of Eastman Chemical Co., to that position.

The firm said he has prior commitments that preclude his joining the board before the end of the year. His term expires in the spring of 2013.

OC, which makes shingles, insulation, and other building materials, had 13 board members a year ago but is down to 11 because of retirements.
