Former school athletic adviser in Archbold indicted on sex charges
WAUSEON — A former Archbold High School weight-room adviser has been indicted on charges he engaged in sexual conduct with a student.
Mario J. Flores, 43, of Archbold is to be arraigned Friday in Fulton County Common Pleas Court. He is held in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio near Stryker on $100,000 bond.
Mr. Flores was indicted last week by a Fulton County grand jury on 14 counts of sexual battery for incidents that allegedly occurred between Dec. 6, 2008, and March 29, 2009. Archbold Schools Superintendent David Deskins said Mr. Flores last was employed as weight-room adviser in 2006, but the position was later cut to trim the budget.
Paul Kennedy, an assistant Fulton County prosecutor, said the indictment alleges he was “employed or serving” in a position of authority at the school.
