Pair rob South Toledo Burger King, shoot manager

Toledo Police arrested a man and a woman Sunday night in relation to a robbery at a South Toledo Burger King.

A man and a woman entered the Burger King at 33 S. Reynolds Rd. about 10:59 p.m. Sunday demanding money. But when restaurant manager James Harding did not respond fast enough, one of the suspects shot him in the thigh.

Toledo Police Officers responding to the scene found the suspects, who fled on foot and with cash, were found hiding in a ditch.

Jermaine L. Stokes, 25, of Toledo, and Robin M. Ensley, 22, also of Toledo, were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and felonious assault. Additional charges are pending.

Mr. Harding was transported to the University of Toledo Medical Center and was being treated for non life threatening injuries.
