A blaze of suspicious origin destroyed a vacant house and damaged both adjacent homes in East Toledo.
A firefighter whose name was not released was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center for a minor injury that initially seemed to be a strained muscle, Battalion Chief Jim Price said.
The blaze at 614 Oak St., reported at noon Wednesday, caused $7,500 damage to the roof and siding of 618 Oak and $1,000 damage to siding at 612 Oak, Chief Price said. The house at 614 Oak was a total loss.
The point of origin remains under investigation, but most of the damage was to the rear of the home, the chief said.
