Father charged with endangering children after death of Bryan infant

BLADE STAFF

BRYAN — The father of a Bryan infant whose death was being treated as a homicide has been charged with endangering children, Bryan police said.

Kevin Oehler, 20, was charged with the second-degree felony offense in the death of Aiden Oehler-McGinley, born March 29, and booked into the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, Bryan police said in a written statement.

Bryan Police Chief Jeff Arnold would not comment on the statement Thursday morning.

The baby boy died Tuesday night at Toledo Children's Hospital. An autopsy was performed Wednesday. The coroner's office has not made a final ruling, but the infant did have abusive head trauma, said Dr. Diane Barnett, a Lucas County deputy coroner.
