Arson investigator hired as Fostoria's fire chief
FOSTORIA — Keith Loreno, an arson investigation supervisor with the state fire marshal's office, has been hired as Fostoria's new fire chief.
Mr. Loreno, who also is a sergeant on the Sycamore, Ohio, Police Department and a special deputy for the U.S. Marshal's Service, is to be paid an annual salary of $66,255 initially, which could increase to $69,742 a year after a six-month probationary period.
The city has been without a fire chief since Russ Rife retired more than a year ago.
Brian Anderson was named acting chief but was demoted after his arrest on domestic-violence charges.
Since then, Capt. Jim Walters has been acting chief.
