FirstEnergy asks license renewal for Davis-Besse

OAK HARBOR — FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Co. said yesterday it has applied to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for license renewal of the Davis-Besse power plant.

The plant is licensed to operate until 2017, but a renewal, if approved, would extend through 2037.
