N. Toledo woman shot after late-night quarrel

A North Toledo woman was in Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center Sunday with a gunshot wound in the chest she suffered after a late-night quarrel Saturday.

Latrease Thompson, 32, whose address was not released, was admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

By midday Sunday, her condition had been upgraded to serious.

Police said she and some friends got into a quarrel with two suspects about 11:46 p.m. Saturday at Mayo Street and Suder Avenue.

As the victim and friends began walking away, the suspects shot at the group, striking Ms. Thompson in the chest, police said. Authorities were not immediately sure what the quarrel was about.

The shooter remained at large Sunday, police said.
