Downtown Toledo landmark coming down

The external demolition of the old United Way headquarters on Jackson Street in downtown Toledo is under way. Most of the work has been taking place inside the building including the removal of asbestos. A crane with a picker is tearing down the structure in sections. The building should be down by early October. Afterward, plans call for seeding the area for a park.
