The Lucas County Women, Infants, and Children program will distribute Farmers' Market Nutrition Program coupons to eligible families at the Toledo Farmers Market at the Erie Street Market from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday and Sept. 25.
The distribution will be on a first-come, first-served basis for eligible WIC participants who have not received 2010 coupons. The goal of the program is to encourage WIC recipients to eat locally grown fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs.
Participants should take their WIC identification cards to the mobile unit in the Erie Street Market parking lot. The coupon pack will include five $3 coupons for each eligible participant.
For more information on the program and how to apply to WIC, call 419-213-4422.
