4 people injured in Wood County crash

BOWLING GREEN — A two-vehicle crash on State Rt. 281 in southeast Wood County sent four people to hospitals Saturday, authorities said.

A Jeep driven by Chynna Ferguson, 18, was traveling southeast at 1:15 p.m. when it collided with an oncoming Ford Edge driven by Christina Welch, 30, in the 3200 block of Route 281. Both drivers are from Wayne, Ohio, sheriff's deputies said.

Ms. Ferguson and a 17-year-old female passenger whose name was not released were taken by air ambulances to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where no information on their conditions was available.

Ms. Welch and her passenger, Robert Benson, 54 of Wayne, were transported by ground to Wood County Hospital, where their conditions were unavailable.

The crash remains under investigation.
