Michigan man indicted in death of pedestrian

A Temperance man accused of killing a pedestrian when he struck her with his pickup was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury Friday.

Joseph Posadny, 49, of 266 East Dean Rd. was indicted with two alternate counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and one count of failure to stop after an accident. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison.

According to police records, Mr. Posadny was driving after consuming alcohol when the accident occurred Aug. 13.

Angel Wells, 28, was crossing Alexis Road near Bennett Road on a green light and was in the crosswalk about 4:30 p.m. when she was hit by the pickup.

Toledo Municipal Court documents allege Mr. Posadny accelerated his vehicle to 50 to 60 mph in a 45-mph zone and ran through a red light.

Mr. Posadny remains in the Lucas County jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
