Toledo Public Schools officials are encouraging parents of children at four East Toledo schools to come and pick up their children at dismissal time.
The four schools — Waite High School, East Broadway Middle School, and Oakdale and Navarre elementary schools — are all in the area that has been evacuated by safety officials because of the threat posed by the instability of the grain silo.
Patty Mazur, a district spokesman, said school officials were contacting parents via emergency numbers Monday afternoon. If parents don't pick up their children at dismissal time, the children will remain at their respective buildings.
