FREMONT — The sales-tax rate in Sandusky County will increase to 7 percent Oct. 1.
County commissioners voted in July to add a 0.25 percentage point, three-year emergency sales tax they hope will make up for lost revenue from the state without service cuts. The hike is expected to generate about $1,375,000 a year.
