Andrew Z's Pizza finds interim site downtown

Andrew Z's Sports Pizzeria restaurant, kicked out of Levis Commons in Perrysburg last week for failing to pay $35,066 in back rent, will resurface this weekend at an existing downtown Toledo restaurant, owner and radio personality Andrew Zepeda said Wednesday.

Mr. Zepeda, the morning host on station WVKS-FM (92.5), said his pizzeria will open at 5 p.m. tomorrow in temporary quarters in a vacant upstairs area of Ole Tacos and Tequila Bar, 329 North Huron St. Mr. Zepeda said his restaurant will be open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for the next few weeks and will employ about 10 of the 40 workers from his Levis Commons restaurant.

The Perrysburg location closed a week ago after the landlord locked it because of unpaid rent. Mr. Zepeda said he is not working on a plan to pay that rent. He also recently closed a downtown store.
