Toledo will begin its 2010 leaf collection program on Nov. 1 and it will conclude in early December, the Bell administration announced.
The collection will begin in curbed and uncurbed streets of ZIP Code 43613 and uncurbed streets in ZIP Code 43623. Signs announcing leaf collection will be posted in affected neighborhoods in advance of the pickup date. Brush, sticks, and bagged leaves will not be collected.
The city asks that leaves be raked to the edge of the pavement on uncurbed streets and just over the curb on curbed streets and that leaves not be placed on boulevards or cul-de-sac islands.
After the program is over, the city wants residents to place remaining leaves in their trash receptacles. Leaves can be recycled at no charge through Dec. 31 at Clean Wood Recycling, 6505 West Bancroft St. or 5330 Stickney Ave.
