Monroe woman, 83, killed in two-vehicle accident

MONROE — A Monroe woman died Saturday after she drove her car into another vehicle on Nadeau Road in Frenchtown Township, authorities said.

Rosella A. Mazur, 83, was pronounced dead at Oakwood Southshore Medical Center after the 12:15 p.m. crash, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said she was exiting a private driveway about a quarter mile west of Vivian Road when her vehicle struck another car traveling on eastbound Nadeau.

The other driver, Viktorija Zigmantaite, 20, of Monroe, suffered nonlife-threatening injuries and was taken to Mercy Memorial Hospital, where information about her condition was unavailable.
