David Santos cuts a panel of wood as crews convert the former Smokey Bones Barbecue & Grill restaurant at 4155 Talmadge Rd. into a LongHorn Steakhouse that is to open in mid-March.
Darden Restaurants Inc., of Orlando, Fla., which owns the LongHorn chain, closed Smokey Bones in 2007 as part of a restructuring and eventual sale of the chain. But Darden held on to the real estate and this year opted to convert the site into the Toledo area's second LongHorn.
