Toledo City Council on Tuesday afternoon voted 7-5 to asborb fire and rescue operations for neighboring Ottawa Hills.
The village is planning to pay $430,000 a year for the next 20 years of services, with all 10 Ottawa Hills firemen being integrated into Toledo's fire department.
Ottawa Hills council previously voted in favor of the agreement. Some on Toledo council, though, had expressed concerns over the agreement and feared it could result in union grievances.
