Megabus.com will add a route from Toledo serving Detroit and Pittsburgh on May 11, the company announced Tuesday.
The bus line, which accepts reservations only over the Internet and does not maintain bus stations, began selling tickets for the new route Tuesday. It is part of a broader expansion of its Pittsburgh-based operations that includes routes to Toronto, Cleveland, and Cincinnati, plus intermediate stops.
Four buses in each direction will stop daily at the south side of Southwyck Boulevard between Reynolds Road and Cheyenne Boulevard.
Pittsburgh-bound buses will stop in Toledo at 1:35 a.m., 10:35 a.m., 3:35 p.m., and 7:35 p.m., and Detroit-bound buses will stop in Toledo at 12:15 a.m., 7:50 a.m., 11:50 a.m., and 5:50 p.m. Travel time to Pittsburgh will range from 3 hours, 40 minutes to 4 hours, 15 minutes depending on the time of day; the trip to Detroit is 80 minutes.
Megabus.com offers a limited number of seats on each trip for $1, plus a 50-cent reservation fee.
