Cedar Fair appoints 9th member of board

SANDUSKY — Cedar Fair LP said Friday that Tom Klein, 49, president of travel industry technology firm Sabre Holdings, will become the ninth member of its board of directors.

The Sandusky-based amusement park chain, which operates 11 amusement parks including Cedar Point as well as six water parks, said Mr. Klein will join the board immediately and fill a three-year term ending in 2014.

The company said in August that it planned to expand its board to nine members from seven and had appointed Matt Ouimet, new president and chief executive officer, to the board. Mr. Klein’s appointment was endorsed by Q Investments, made up of Texas-based hedge funds that together are Cedar Fair’s largest shareholder.
