Hershberger appointed Bedford Township clerk
TEMPERANCE — Trudy Hershberger has been appointed Bedford Township clerk.
Ms. Hershberger, 44, has been deputy clerk since 2000, serving under the late Bob Schockman, who died last month. She will fill the rest of his four-year term, which extends to the end of this year. She said she has not decided if she will run for election to a full term.
The township board made the appointment Tuesday at its regular meeting. She was then sworn in by Supervisor Walt Wilburn. Ms. Hershberger began working for the township in 1997 in the building department. She did a stint in the assessing department before becoming Mr. Schockman's deputy.
