Donation accounts set up for BGSU students in critical condition after fatal crash


Donation accounts have been set up for the two Bowling Green State University sorority sisters who survived Friday’s fatal head-on crash, the university said Tuesday.

Both women, Kayla Somoles, 19, of Parma, Ohio, and Angelica Mormile, 19, of Garfield Heights, Ohio, remain in critical condition at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. The two were in a vehicle that also carried three of their friends who died after the car was hit head-on by a car driven by Winifred D. Lein, 69, of Perrysburg Township.

Lein was also killed in the crash.

Anyone wishing to make a donation to “help their families with expenses” can take donations to any Huntington National Bank.

The account for Ms. Somoles is No. 01662355833 and the one for Ms. Mormile is No. 01662355820. Donations will also be accepted at Ms. Somoles’ mother’s employer, Gear Company of America, Inc., 14300 Lorain Ave., Cleveland, 44111, to the attention of “Donation Accounts.”
