The future of public transportation in Perrysburg is to be the topic of a city council hearing Wednesday evening.
Representatives of Clear View Strategies, a city consultant hired to help develop a local transit system to replace the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority, are to be present at the 7 p.m. hearing in city council chambers, 201 W. Indiana Ave.
Perrysburg voters on March 6 approved a referendum to withdraw from TARTA.
Under state law, the transit authority’s service will end six months after the vote is certified. Certification typically occurs about one month after an election, which would place the transit authority’s departure in October.
Perrysburg leaders intend to develop their replacement transit service in time to place a local levy on the Nov. 6 general-election ballot and start operating on Jan. 1.
